Stacking a set of moon images to reduce noise?

Hi

I have a set of moon images, taken during moonrise last night. Tripod was used. Light was very low so very high ISO was used. I read somewhere that a set of images can be stacked together (in Photoshop) to reduce noise. I wonder how it would work on images where the moon moves between frames. I even found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s98i0VlVoLY where Tony N. took moon images handholding and was able to stack consecutive images to reduce noise.

Does anyone know who stacking works when something (like the moon) moves between frames while the rest (i.e., foreground) remains stationary?

Thanks

David
