Z crop APS-C restriction Vs Other
1

Hi

I wonder what the reason is for not allowing the use of the full sensor with APS-C lenses as an option and forcing to use the crop mode on the Z's?

Another brand allows that and I have personally tried it with good results and there are plenty of crop lenses that actually cover the FF sensor and that opens up additional flexibilities.

It seems strange and offers no benefit for the user to 'lock them out'. In fact some images have that strong black ring vignette as part of their style, if you look at really old photos from turn of century they had that. I have family portraits from 1900's that are all "person sitting inside black circle" look and would be cool to create naturally without any effort.

Do we know if the Z9 will allow that, being that is has additional capabilities?
