5400RPM external drive vs SSD for LR Catalog, previews, and image files.

Right now my MacBook Pro only has 128GB space. I regularly work with an image database that totals about 1.5TB. My LR catalog has about 10,000 files in it. Im forced to work with my LR catalog, previews, and image files on the external drive. My external drive is just a 2TB HDD with an RPM of 5400. I have two of these HDs, one to work on, and one to clone to for a backup.

If I switch to two 4GB SSDs to use as my external drives, instead of the two cheap 2TB HDDs, will I notice a speed improvement when working in LR?
