Check shutter count on Pansonic S1, S1R, SIH, and S5 - An easier way

If you look for the instructions on finding shutter count, they require a bit of multi-hand/finger magic that is hard to get right.

There is an easier way. Initial steps are similar, but final steps are easier.

1. Make sure battery is fully (or nearly fully) charged, and camera is in Single-Shot mode.

2. Take a picture and turn off camera (this can be skipped if you have already taken pictures in this power cycle).

3. Press Play and AF-On button together while turning on the camera.

4. Open menus, scroll to the Setting (wrench) menu. In the sub-menu for this item, there should be two wrench items (usually there is only one). Go the second wrench item.

5. Scroll down to the last item "ERR Code DISPLAY" and select it. This will display a screen with error codes.

6. Press Play+Menu together. Voila! There is the CAMERA INFO screen with all information including shutter count.

If you are curious, press DISPLAY to view the second CAMERA INFO screen, which shows camera clock and memory info.
