Also check for the very cheap original Canon EF 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 USM.  The various Canon EF 70-300mm lenses are ok as well.  It is ALL the Canon EF 75-300mm lenses you want to avoid.

You won't need IS which tends to make lenses more expensive.

You have access to some of the world's best motor racing events.  You should check some out.
