When you mount the 22mm, for example, even with the power off it cycles through extension and retraction of the lens, presumably as a check that the lens is fitted correctly - better to find out as close to the point of mounting as possible if the lens isn't mounted correctly, so I believe there is method to this bit of madness. Problem is it seems that the Speedbooster is falling foul of this behaviour. Doesn't bother me personally, as I don't use it that much, and rarely leave it mounted on the camera for very long anyway.
