Advice on shooting a conference?

My div director told me yesterday I was volunteering to attend a local electronics conference in 2 weeks and taking pics of the live speakers. This is a 3-day event.

I have never attended an event like this and I have no freaking clue what to do.

This is what I own:

E-M1mk2, 2x 128GB cards, & 2 batteries
E-M1, 1x128GB card, & 2 batteries

Autofocus Lenses:
Oly: 12-40/2.8, 60/2.8 macro, 40-150/4-5.6
Pan: 20/1.7

1. Can I get away with just the E-M1mk2 and 12-40, and shoot everything at ISO 1600? (I have Olympus workspace and Lightroom)

2. Do I need to rent a longer lens? (not sure if I'd get reimbursed).

3. Is it kosher to walk up to someone at the mic, take a couple pics and then walk away?

4. How do I keep track of who is who?

Thanks for any advice.
(my experience is shooting macros & candids of family)
