Best value telephoto zoom for wildlife

Hi team.

Looking at expanding my Nikon FF set up with all these people dumping cheap DSLRs for milc.

Currently I only have a D800, prefer a D750 or D780 next as I do a few weddings so I'll probably rely on the D800 for birds.

It will be more of a value for money purchase as opposed to strict budget but a 600mm telephoto looks out of the question.

150-600 50-500 or 200-500 ?

There are a few options.

I Currently have a tired old Bigma on my Pentax k3mki which delivers mixed results.

Modern Tamron and Sigma look like slightly higher price but better performance?

Then going strictly Nikon might be a safer bet and the 200-500 may talk to each other better?

What are peoples impressions on IQ vs $$ for these and other mid range options.

Although less focal length, the af-p 70-300 Dx lens could cover some other options for me but might struggle at 300mm? Although for birding I'm only worried about centre frame IQ.

So in summary I don't want budget shooting but best IQ for $$ and not top dollar telephoto. I'm thinking telephoto zoom on the D800.

A better lens on my K3 is an alternative but the D800 wins hands down for AF.

Thoughts....

Nikon D750 Nikon D80 Nikon D800 Sigma 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM
