I am happy (for me) that you confirmed my findings with the Tamron!

Although AF is better with M6ii, the resolution takes its toll. The VC is good for only 2 f-stops.

The performance for close-up is actually acceptable.

My experiment was not lost at all, as it lead me to the Sony RX10IV, because I knew now that I wanted the long focal range within 1 camera and 1 lens. Finally a very liberating small, but still effective and capable setup!

As you know, I have had the RX10-4 since its release but the M6ii still has its place in my bag, I'm getting some rather nice images using it with the ef-s 55-250 is stm and I have a used 100mm IS L macro coming today to add to it

These two are part of a large number shot from my "comfy chair" in the garden from around 8 - 10ft away then cropped (I have to do most of my shooting from a fixed seated position these days )

So much to learn, so little time left to do it!
