Macro lens advice for least vignetting at edges

Hi!

I've recently been working on a personal project where I am taking photos of macro compositions in a controlled environment. Mainly abstract compositions of organic objects with interesting lighting. E.g.

I am trying to get as much of the subject in focus as possible. This involves taking multiple photographs at different focal points and then merging them together in photoshop. I am currently using an XT-30 with a MCEX-16 Macro Extension Tube + FUJINON XF18-55mm F2.8-4.

The results are pretty good considering the set up but there are a few issues:

  • The more photos that are required to be merged the more complications
  • I get some blur around the edges of the image which is likely due to my cheap setup

I am considering getting a dedicated macro lens, though I don't want to spend loads. The requirements are:

  • Least amount of vignetting at edges
  • Compositions vary from 2cm to 5cm across, so need to get pretty close!
  • Autofocus is not a necessity
  • Larger depth of field
  • Not bothered about nice bokeh

Does anyone have any suggestions that fit my requirements - a vintage lens would also be fine, if it's sharp!

Thanks!

Alex
