Try Again - UT/AZ Trip Early October
1

I started this thread a while back, but the plans had changed for a variety of circumstances, and we never made it out to Grand Canyon / various UT parks.

Here's that thread: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4566759

So now, we are, at least tentatively, planning to do the Grand Canyon / Monument Valley, and potentially Zion and Bryce in early-Mid October.

Initially, was planning on Las Vegas -> Grand Canyon (South) -> Page, Az -> Monument Valley -> Conyonlands -> Bryce -> Zion -> Las Vegas.

Might alter this route and take out the Canyonlands, and go from Monument Valley to Bryce/Zion. I know Canyonlands is amazing, but it's simply a function of time that is being considered.

Plan to do some hiking and a whole lot of photography.

Photo Gear: 14-24, 24-70, 70-200; thinking of leaving back the 14-24. Plan on taking along some screw-on filters (CPL).

Any recommendations on hiking boots?

Are hiking poles necessary?

Early October - seeing mid-60s temps? A light jacket is ok, I suppose.

As always, thanks everyone for chiming in with your insight and wisdom. Its a quick trip and still working out the details.

Cheers
