Need advice on a long term camerasystem v2
1

I made a thread a while back which was put on hold due to finances, but I'm getting ready to make the purchase now.

The old thread is here: Need advice on a long term camerasystem: Camera, Lens and System Buying Advice Forum: Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com)

Budget: 3000$ with at least one fast lens

Use cases:

  • Photos of my family
  • Baby is due in october
  • 3 year old daughter who runs around alot
  • Indoors/outdoors
  • Mostly single shot style of shooting.

What I won't be using the camera for:

  • Video. I don't care for video on my photocamera. I've got a dedicated tiny gimbal camera that is good enough for my video needs. Autofocus in video mode is therefore not important.

What is important:

  • Reliable autofocus. My daughter enjoys the playground swings and there's plenty of photos to be made. Autofocus that can keep up with movement towards/away from the camera is important

Cameras I've looked at:

  • Panasonic S5 bundle with kit-lens and 50mm F1.8 is currently on sale for 2600$.
  • Nikon Z6II would probably be a candidate.
  • Canon eos R6, but the lenses are mighty expensive..

Panasonic seems really well priced.

Any tips are appreciated.

Canon EOS R6 Panasonic Lumix DC-S5
