The picture has been taken with my most often used lens, the Sigma 18–35, 1:1.8 DC. I think from a distance of 15–20 meters.

An other part of the pict shows, that these are happy birds in the sky (swallows) in some 150 (?) meters distance. (XPatUSA will do the math for us

I am still convinced these are insects. Larger ones of course like bees. Check them out. If these would be birds, they wouldn‘t show up as circles. Not all of them. The two ones you markes with a circle also don‘t look like distant birds. But well, no reason to argue about it.

I agree. If they're birds, they're the fattest birds with the smallest wings I have ever seen. I wonder what kind of insects they are.
