The picture has been taken with my most often used lens, the Sigma 18–35, 1:1.8 DC. I think from a distance of 15–20 meters.
As I read your comment, FDecker, I had a good smile. Thank you! But I think, that would be really to much even for a Foveon sensor and a really good lens! An other part of the pict shows, that these are happy birds in the sky (swallows) in some 150 (?) meters distance. (XPatUSA will do the math for us

I am still convinced these are insects. Larger ones of course like bees. Check them out. If these would be birds, they wouldn‘t show up as circles. Not all of them. The two ones you markes with a circle also don‘t look like distant birds. But well, no reason to argue about it.
