The picture has been taken with my most often used lens, the Sigma 18–35, 1:1.8 DC. I think from a distance of 15–20 meters.
As I read your comment, FDecker, I had a good smile. Thank you! But I think, that would be really to much even for a Foveon sensor and a really good lens! An other part of the pict shows, that these are happy birds in the sky (swallows) in some 150 (?) meters distance.(XPatUSA will do the math for us

Be glad to:

distance say 150,000mm, focal length 26mm, bird say 300mm = 26/150,000x300 =52um at the sensor = about 10 pixels.
