If that is the case, I hope this thread and other like it will help to educate the community about what the "D" actually means.

And so are AF lenses without any additional designation. And of course none of them will autofocus on the FTZ.

Just one final point - the confusion caused by this misuse of "D" isn't new. It's been around since Nikon removed the AF motor from their lower-end DSLR cameras.
