I've heard about that, but haven't done it.

Makes for kind of an expensive extension tube.

Also not sure if the camera still sees a tele converter and changes the minimum aperture.

The alternative, at least for the sdQ and sdQH, is to use a manual-focus macro lens.

For instance, you can get (eBay) "Macro confirm Nikon F AI Lens to Pentax K Mount PK Adapter" -- it must be the Macro type, not the kind with a lens in it. Or use an M42 to K mount adapter.

Then , Nikon or M42 extension tubes. Then a Nikon AI or Super-Takumar macro lens.

Alternatively, look for a K mount bellows.

But I don't know if the Sd1 allows manual focus in Live View ? If not, then you're stuck.
