Inflation has been different in different countries thanks to currency movements. The British inflation rate since then puts it at more than £2250.

As a professional camera it had a 1/2000s top shutter speed (the OM 1 only went to 1/1000s), interchangeable viewfinders and focussing screens and an optional 3½ fps motordrive. The high-speed motordrive version has a fixed pellicle mirror so it could do 9 fps. Those were the days.

The Canon Pellix released in 1964 had a fixed semitransparent mirror (which did not flip) but at the price of 1/2 stop darker image anf 1.7 stop darker finder image.
