Speaking of reality, I think some people may need to face reality that brand new L lenses and cutting edge FF cameras may not fit in their budget. There's no shame in running a crop system or using older EF lenses or even going with a DSLR. There are plenty of ways to enjoy photography for low cost in 2021. Demanding that a brand new pro FF system be "affordable" is probably not realistic.

You nailed it! When I purchased the R and later the R6, I was prepared to have all the benefits of a "modern" body and use them on my "legacy" EF or EF mount lenses that were anyway still very good in the first place.

Let me just add - there may be a lingering perception that for all types of professional work, only the glitziest, swankiest bestest top of the line equipment will do. When I recently did the corporate portrait photoshoot of a large hospital, despite my having an R, and RP (have not sold it yet at that time), an R6 and an M6II - I decided to use the RP with Tamron 85mm 1.8 SP VC and the M6ii with the 32mm 1.4, literally setting aside my more expensive bodies because to my judgment, these two cameras can do a better job for the situation. I realize it's more about my confidence that the equipment will do what I want and how I wanted it done, and that's just not about the costliest gear.

These are COVID-19 frontliners btw And yes not many photographers will be crazy enough to shoot in a hospital during a pandemic.
