I've got the EF 16-35 f/4 and after looking into the RF 14-35, decided not to upgrade. The cost of upgrade will be very high, probably about 1000-1500 AUD after I sell the old lens. In the end, I'd get the same IQ, heavy vignetting and dark corners at 14mm and just +2mm at the wide end.

I'd better get a wide angle fast prime for astro for that money. RF lenses are overpriced at the moment.

Just 2 millimeters? The difference between 14 and 16 is huge. Maybe not for landscapes, but certainly indoors.
I've sold my 16 and went for a wider lens. Bought a 14. Two years later I had more indoors architectural jobs and I bought a 12-24 as well. Nice but heavy.
