Manual focus lenses and toddlers

Hi. I'm looking into having a one lens situation with my camera. A few years ago, when I owned the X-T2, I loved using the Mitakon and the 7artisans lenses. What put me off was the size of the Mitakon, clickless aperture and lack of exif for both.

The Voigtländer seems to fix all these issues now.

But there's a catch. I now have a baby. She's too young to run around or even crawl but at some point in the coming few years that is going to change.

I wanted to ask for the input from people who've used or are using manual focus lenses. Does the continuous usage of a manual focus lens for a long period of time allow you to get focus fast enough to catch toddlers or should I basically forget about it and stick to the 35mm f1.4?

Cheers,
Vittorio
