X100 - how old is too old?

I am thinking of getting an X100 series camera to play around with. I am likely to upgrade to a recent X-Tx model in the near future as my main camera, so an X100 would be a camera simply to enjoy using. No particular subjects - just general walkaround with a bit of landscape, cityscape, walkaround, maybe a spot of street photography. My use is strictly amateur (plenty of photography experience, but not necessarily any talent) and mainly for posting on social media and maybe photo book printing.

I know I can do all that with a small prime on an X-T body, but the X100 is different and a bit special.

The X100 series has always been well regarded but has clearly had some improvements (and potentially some backwards steps). But do the improvements make the earlier models redundant? Or do they have unique qualities that maybe make them better than the latest iterations? Has it all been just incremental progression, or great leaps forward?

What is the earliest X100 model you consider worth buying in 2021 for my use case?
