That's an excellent point.  Even though the d5 setting may not be useful in Live View to eliminate the possibility of mirror slap during the exposure (Yes, there is in fact a mirror up component to the d5 setting), d5 would still be useful in allowing any vibration from pressing the shutter release to subside before the shutter release occurs.  I had not thought of that benefit.  Thanks.

Of course if there is shock caused by simply releasing the shutter, the only way to prevent that is to not release the shutter.   Sort of hard to take photographs that way however.,
