Yeps, good point. Most of the time to date that’s been noise processing or dealing with PDAF pixels that wouldn’t likely effect MTF50 tests but as we move towards more and more computational photography features it can become an issue.

It did throw a few people who should have known better for a loop when Olympus did their first pixel shift RAW files on the E-M5II.  For compatibility with more RAW converters Olympus creates what is really a pseudo-RAW that uses a standard Bayer arrangement and in the process of producing that adds a bit of sharpening.
