I not denying the difficulty of testing across systems, just pointing out that I doubt ePhotozine will admit their review is fundamentally flawed

To be fair, ePhotozine didn't construct a the Nikon/Canon comparison (at least not that is readily apparent); the OP did.

I think the salient point is that this data suggests that using a Nikon system with a Nikon lens will provide sharper results than using a Canon  system with a Canon lens.

But this data does NOT tell you that if you adapt the Canon lens to a Z, the results will be worse than using the native Z lens (for reasons outlined above).
