I sorta disagree. For the old Fiji lenses, I think the 16/1.4, 23/1.4 and 14/2.8 are much better performers comparing to 35/1.4 in term of IQ at close or minimum distance focus.

You’re probably right, I was thinking of close quarter shots  (0.8m-5m) like what i usually use for shooting portraits rather than the absolute minimum focus distance. At that range I usually stop down anyways so probably the performance wide open is not ideal of the 35mm at that close distances.--
