Flash question

Back in 2006, when I ordered my K10D, I also ordered to small Sunpak digital flashes, as slave for product photography. As I haven't done product photography in almost a decade, those flashes has been sitting on the selves unused.
Now, I am waiting for my limited K1 mkii, and as it does not have an onboard flash, I have been looking for a small flash, mostly for using as a fill in flash. The Pentax AF201 looks nice, but it is too expensive, specially for the rare usage I have for it. I recently bought a beautiful dedicated Samsung brand flash for my Samsung cameras, and I paid some 40 USD for it.
I was looking for something in that class, and I see everything is cheap plastic, manual model. I just remembered the Sunpaks. I powered one and tried it on my now retired K10D, which has been used mostly for my M42 lenses, It fired. It does not have any control on it. It is cheaply made, but it's okay. My question is, if there might be any technical problem, which may occur by using this flash on the K1?
