Before I bias the comparison with my own observations, what differences can you see between these two?

Wow, excellent work!

The most important thing I see with your processing is how you brought back the blue sky in the upper left, recovering some highlights. Yours has a bit of an increased magenta cast (it's warmer)...a little too much for me, but I like the increase in saturation. Yours has more contrast.

Also very importantly, when I look at your jpeg at 150%, the edge of the red pot on the deck is smoother... just right for sharpness! Also, detail on the Fresca can is BETTER. RT shows the can having more blotchy blocks...

Interestingly, the pixel count on your file is 4256x2848, while mine from RT is 4281x2871. I converted one from HU and it is 4256x2848 like yours. I'm assuming, like me, you did not crop, so I'm not sure what RT is doing...

So, OVERALL your conversion IS better and I stand convinced of the value of HU VS-3.

I did figure out that the preview window in HU does show the image slightly blurry, but the converted file shows normal (good) detail. I wish HU would show this detail in real time, since I don't see how you can sharpen properly without really seeing what you're doing! Unless I'm missing a step, LOL.

I would love it if you could share the processing steps you use in HU VS-3, or at a minimum a screenshot of your settings prior to hitting the convert button.

Thanks for taking the time for making the case for HS VS-3!
