Hi All,

Resurrecting this thread.

Recently I've discovered the beauty of old cameras with CCD sensors, and I obtained a Fuji S5 Pro.  OMG. The colors SOOC are jaw-dropping. Unbelievable.

Got my hands on the Hyper-Utility v3 software. Seems like a very basic RAW converter/editor to me, so I looked for alternatives. I have copies of Capture One Pro 20, SilkyPix Developer Studio Pro 10 (my most used software for RAW files from various cameras), Affinity Pro, Darktable (S5 files look bizarre upon immediately opening them in Darktable) and PS CS6.

Then I tried RAW Therapee for the Fuji S5 files.  To my eyes, it handles the Fuji S5 files so much better than any of the other applications, including the Hyper-Utility v3. Just fantastic. The HU sofware preview seems slightly blurry on the same monitor compared to RT (which perplexes me). RT offers so many other adjustable parameters that HU doesn't have (not that these files need much tweaking!).

I dunno...I guess I don't understand the raves about HU v3.

I have a calibrated 4K monitor, if that matters.

Thx for listening!
