Incredible Value

CEP: Recently bought at Adorama for near a thousand buck used, they have 30 day return and I bought a Pentax jelly and cleaned the sensor, now it is just perfect.

Autofocus is not reliable in sports. I will not use mirrorless without DPAF 2.0 or Real-Time tracking, it is a huge disadvantage for sports. The blackout is no big deal for me, as I started with mirrorless and only has a film DSLR, which shouldn't shoot continuously anyway.

Video spec is outstanding though using the super sample video show much more dust on sensor then photo, if same in f/22: maybe due to sampling. Disaster with my trip because I did not clean sensor, neither bring a jelly nor a rocket.

Video IBIS is much worse than E-M1X and GH5ii played with before, but those either have bad autofocus or is too heavy and stucked in M43. Compared to competition, it is very good.

Capped 60 fps refresh rate EVF isn't really to bother me much, but a faster one should be better always. But the LCD is stunning, viewable from not extreme sun.

Not a big fan of Nikon Menu because used Sony for quite a lot before, but touch interface should make it way to every Pentax, Olympus and Sony cameras right now.

Picture Control quite useless, always shoot RAW. Offer lossless 12-bit raw, which I'm using. Quite efficient with those not cheap XQD cards.

Battery life is excellent. Turn on Prioritize Viewfinder, and it lasts a whole afternoon of trail in mountain. Not comparable to Sony Z battery which offers just crazy juice, but still very respectable life.

Only having XQD cards make cinematography quite expensive with the media. But casually 144Mbps is just fine, and external is always welcome with 10-bit. Prores RAW is nice, but I hate pixel-binning. If you need any RAW Video, Panasonic S1 is the no-brainer. (S5 use Pixel Binned 5.9K sensor → 4K Prores RAW, S1 offers 5.9K Prores Raw Full Readout)

Video Autofocus should be able to be adjusted faster, but quite good. Nikon Z lenses do not feel good in manual focusing on video, though. I wish they have fully mechanical, clicky and clickless switchable and metal manual focus lens.

Weather Sealing and Ergonomics and Build - Crazy quality. Though much less confident than 1DX and E-M1X this is the best consumer camera build (because same form factor with Z7 and their MK ii). I'm not confident this is that strong mechanically with D850 though, but very, very impressive.

I wish they have full sensor ProRes Raw (S1 has same sensor, should not be capped by Sony), a separate rate button and GPS plug-in (or even just built-in, why it is missing?) and it will be perfect. But overall, very satisfied.

The four way controller is mediocre, I love dials better.
