Does anyone still use Panasonic 20mm f/1.7?

Re: Focus on what's important...

I think then, if that is your preferred mode of shooting, a lens’ autofocus performance is not really an important factor in the choice of equipment. Early autofocus cameras from the 80s and 90s have very adequate performance for this and I enjoy shooting with them with a leisurely half press, hold and recompose. But I also enjoy street photography (where often there is little time to identify a punctum) and modern autofocus technology provides a viable alternative to the classic manual zone focus technique. This allows the use of larger apertures than needed for zone focus and can add to the aesthetic of street photos if you feel that shallower depth of field is desirable. But the Panasonic 20mm/1.7 combined with an Olympus body can’t be used that way… which is a pity because it is a lovely focal length for street work on m4/3.

Ultimately, the Panasonic 20/1.7 works best with Panasonic bodies and that’s really all I was trying to convey. Thanks for reminding me of the punctum concept… I hadn’t read that page before.
