This raises another question - Is 1080/60p better "quality" than 1080/24? Or is it just more data to deal with per second (i.e. higher bandwidth)?

Aaron I think it depends on the look you are after. Typically shutter open durations are often set at about half the frame duration which means that for 24fps you would have a shutter speed of 1/50sec and for 60fps a shutter speed of say 1/120sec. This means you get more motion blur with the 24fps setting which results in less sharpness but more smoothness - some call it the "film look". I'd suggest you do some experimenting with both for the type of footage you want to capture.
