Good use of “Replying with quote”

Good point. In spite of all the tedious humor posted here, this would save a lot of aggravating time wasted.

For myself, I try to quote when I need to show who's comment I'm responding to. I do that by quoting but removing all of the text except the point I am replying to. IOW, what I have to say is about one particular comment, not the whole thread.

I also look at where my response will fall in the thread. Does it fall directly below the comment I'm quoting, is it going to look like I'm responding to the last comment above mine or will it land at the bottom of the thread.

The other thing I do is replace the title of my post with what I have to say rather than leaving to OP's title so my post shows a title like "Re: xxx".

Following a pattern makes it easy to weed through a lot of bulk.

Sorry, I have no humor to add about this point.
