Re: Dear Fuji can you please develop in camera focus stacking?
One of my misgivings about Fuji (and one reason I left Fuji for several months for Nikon Z) is their unwillingness to include more in-camera processing features, such as focus stacking (I believe you're requesting the capability to process several stacked images into one final pic in-camera). Their lower-end Bayer cameras (such as the X-T200) have the ability to assemble interval shots into a final 4k/30p video in-camera, while keeping the original still files separate. The X-T200 also has a "live bulb" feature, which allows one to watch a long-exposure image form in real time on the lcd, similar to Olympus' "Live Composite/Bulb". There are other similar features in these cameras, features also present in other brands, yet for whatever reason Fuji has not implemented them in any X-Trans camera. Perhaps one of the reasons is because back in 2018 one of the Fuji guys told me in an in-store GFX event that the lower-end Bayer cams were made by another company for Fuji.
When I had my Nikon z5/6ii, the in-camera time lapse movies with exposure smoothing were great, and saved so much processing time. One could still keep the individual image files separate if more pp work was a desired, but the bottom line is Fuji is definitely behind other brands in this area. I came back to Fuji for the ooc image quality, for the overall experience, and for less financial burden. I'm hoping though Fuji will include these kinds of in-camera features in the X-H2 or any other forthcoming cameras. There just doesn't seem to be any reason not to include them.
