In days of yore, when Olympus was a camera manufacturer, my mother's friend recommended an Olympus OM-1 as a starter camera. With manual focus and manual exposure, it sure was a good starter camera.

I started with an OM-10, bought in 1980, with money earned during college days - working weekdays in campus cafeteria and weekends in downtown restaurants.  Just one lens - a 50mm/f1.8.  Backpacked to Europe with couple of college buddies summer 1980 (and continental US in 1981 with another lens - a Vivitar 70-200mm bought in New York City)

When that camera and I took a ~25m tumble down a waterfall, only I survived. With money invested in OM glass and multi-spot metering, the recently released OM-4T was the logical choice.

I still have my OM-10 plus 4 lenses.

Enter digital. I went Nikon APSC but compared to my OMs, it was awkward to lug around while carrying children on my shoulders. That lasted about five years.

My digital journey started with Olympus 'Camedia' P&S cameras.  Followed by a Canon RebelXTi which died on me less than a year later - no more Canon for me.  Bought a Nikon D90 followed by D7200.  Sold the D7200 and kept the D90 to this day.  Really liked Nikon, still do, so much so I was one of the early adopters of their Nikon 1 V1 which I still keep together with 10/2.8 and 18.5/1.8

Enter E-PM1. To see if MFT would be adequate, I purchased an E-PM1 as a test which it passed, as I rarely picked up my D200.

Before coming back to Olympus, I had a Sony NEX-5N but gave it away to my BIL after 6 months.  No more Sony - bad ergonomics in UI and body and lack of prime lenses.
My first m43 Olympus was EM10.i.  Over the past 6 years, my gear list has grown to 3 Olympus - EM5.ii, EM5.iii, PEN-F; 2 Panasonic - GM1, GX85.  And a myriad of lenses, mostly prime lenses.
