Bad threads on step up ring or lens?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a couple of step up rings off Amazon, so that I could use my 67mm polarizer filter on my EF-M 11-22mm and 32mm lenses. The 55 to 67mm one works great on my 11-22mm, but I've gone through a couple of the ones for my 32mm. The first time with each one threading them on they seemed to tighten up (no cranking them down), but then every time after that they will no longer snug up but instead go partway on and then just spin and spin. I'm really hoping it's just poor threads on a cheap step up ring, but don't really know how to figure out which threads are the problem. The step up ring is just some no name brand - "AMOPOFO."

Does anyone have any tips on how I can make sure my 32mm threads are the good ones? (Hopefully!) 😬 I don't have any other 43mm filters....
