So basically it comes down to:

a) if you shoot wide open (F1.4), make sure that the focus is near the center, since corners are not so good wide open

b) if your focal point is near the edges of the image, stop the lens down to F2.8 or more to avoid purple fringing and other issues.

I have this lens and I am very happy with it. The only problem I noticed is the purple fringing in high contrast scenes when shooting at F1.4, but it almost completely goes away when I stop it down to F2 or more.
