I still remember visiting Zabriskie Point in Death Valley before dawn and was shocked at the army of photographers with their tripods and cameras awaiting the sunrise. I took about a hundred photos of my own that morning. They are completely and utterly uninteresting to me because I don't want to repeat someone else's vision. I would have been happier just using my cell phone and taking a snapshot to remember the moment.

I saw this comment and  it reminded me of a great  shoot.

While  no doubt the hoards  were also all huddled  at  Zabriskie Point during my last trip to the neighborhood,  I spent the  sunrise  shooting  at the  completely deserted Furnace Creek Ranch  stables and got exactly what the client needed.

Having lived in Flag for two years I am accustomed to seeing groups at  the photo op turnouts  along  17 through Sedona.  Canned prepackaged and worry free. Lacking any point whatsoever. Fun for the whole family.
