This really helps me think things through.

You hit some benefits of the X100V I hadn't considered - the extra stop of light, wider for tight social scenarios - and helped answer my concerns around how the lens renders images. The 27mm has something quite special in that regard, I think.

And thanks for your thoughts on the field of view. I had a suspicion it might be an adjustment. I'm pretty comfortable with the 27mm. (I have the 35mm/f2 and find I only really like it for portraits.) I have a friend who has the 23mm/f2 - maybe I'll ask to borrow it first.
