I think the 5d4 is pretty capable at keeping up with moving subjects but the key is to obviously make sure you have the single AF point as best as you can on the dogs eyes/face as they dart around. I’ve photographed foxes for a few years and it does a decent job. Mind you it won’t track like cameras with animal eye AF but it can be done.
If money is an issue, the 5d4 could probably do a good job for what you are looking for.

Nope - sold the camera + lenses, so I am system-less and ready to buy into what's best for my... new generation of photography, with more of a focus on camera size+weight.
