Flagship Talk
2

Let’s talk R1. Canon and Nikon have in the past reserved their flagships for sports and photojournalism professionals. Speed. Rugged build and weather sealing. All the bells and whistles. Lower MP count for faster transfer and better pixel density for cleaner low light output.

Now that we know the R3 is 24 MPs, are we thinking Canon is shifting away from the sports and photojournalism genre being the flagship and moving on to a jack-of-all-trades with speed and MPs? Seems to make sense if the R1 is to compete with Sony’s A1. Or do they come out with an R3s variant for those looking for more MPs? What is everyone thinking here on how Canon is approaching this?
