HDR vs Active D
1

Hi all, what's the difference between HDR setting in camera and active D lighting? As I understand it {although not sure if this is correct} , HDR is an in camera setting designed only to be used with exposure bracketing so one can stack multiple exposure photos into one. Active D lighting seems to me has the same "look" picture for picture, but adjusts in camera ISO and applies higher iso to dark shadowy areas to bring out highlights. Was playing with both settings yesterday {without any post processing} and frankly I didn't really notice a difference between the two. Took a shot with HDR on, and it brightened up the dark areas. Turned HDR off and active d lighting on , took a shot and seems to me the same result as HDR.
