Full Frame vs Crop Sensor Reach

Been reading a lot lately and something stands out to me a 70mm lens on a FF is only 70mm but if you put it on a crop sensor like the 80D then it becomes 112mm is this a good thing or a bad thing? Does the image quality degrade or am I missing something?

What I’m really getting at is A crop sensor camera just as good as a ff camera?
