Sigma Art 50mm aperture issue... it's not stuck, but won't close past f/2

Anyone had a similar issue? It's mounted on an R6 with the adapter if it matters. Manual setting, except auto ISO.

I've heard of apertures getting totally stuck, but not this problem. Looking through the front of the lens, I can see the aperture physically close when I press the DOF preview button.

But it won't close beyond f/2. I can set f/16 in the camera and press DOF preview, it just closes down to f/2, and the picture comes out too bright of course.

Is there a fix besides "send it to Sigma"?
