Has somebody fixed (DIY) a camera's aperture control lever ?

Hello Everybody,

Recently I bought a used 24-120 F/4 VR and started using it with my D3x. Soon I found that the camera has started acting weirdly. It might take first few shots then the viewfinder would get super dim even on a sunny day and it won't take anymore photos if it is on focus priority.

I started exploring the lens and see that it works ok with my other bodies like D300, D7200 etc. Further examining the lens mount on D3x I found that the aperture control lever is bent inwards.

Wondering if anybody has tried fixing it yourself ? tried to bend it back ? or should I send the body to a repair shop.

Thank you very much for your comments.
