A6600 & 200-600 BIFs: Egrets, Geese & Ducks

Got out today to my favorite birding spot; there was some BIF action to see, but unfortunately further away than usual. But since I had the 200-600 with me, I still got some nice shots, even if some of those are heavily cropped. Or to say it the other way round: without the reach of the 200-600 it wouldn't have been easy to show anything presentable at all.

All shots taken with the A6600 handheld.

First some egrets. #1 shows the fully extended wings in nice detail:

#2 catches the eye of the egret:

#3: This egret was standing nearby, so a higher resolution shot was possible:

#4: A cormorant, also not that far away:

Now for some geese!

#5: First these three guys flying sort of in formation:

#6: Here one goose landing with an IMO very exceptional pose:

#7: Another goose, this one a composite of five single frames of the landing process:

#8: Here a glimpse of the the geese's colony:

#9: A flying duck:

And finally #10: A duck landing with a splash:

I was quite satisfied getting those, especially the BIF ones. Focusing was fast and accurate, at all focal length and distances - this was what I expected of the 200-600, and my 2nd copy now delivered and made reliable BIF shooting possible.
