It is possible for a brand to go dead even if they have excellent products if they have insufficient retail availability. I think Pentax marketing has improved its on-line presence when it comes to the advertising side based on the Youtube influencer presence in the K3iii launch. Now, Pentax may have to do more in on-line e-commerce direct sales. That can result in channel conflicts with street side retailers but at this point, there may not be enough retailers. Still Pentax needs to find a way to get samples into the hands of people. Perhaps some type of rent, then buy program. Anyway, to be successful in business, it's not just the engineering side, Ricoh/Pentax also needs the marketing side, and they'r running into the problem of not having enough scale economies due to small volumes. That's entirely the reason for a two thousand dollar K-3iii.
