Oft trumpeted? Not really. It's hardly ever mentioned and I didn't even know it was a "feature" when I bought my RX100vii. I have no use for it.

Well, at least on can shoot at 20fps, right? Here, the buffer clears painfully slowly. I'm talking over a minute when full. Ouch!

I have never filled the buffer. I don't believe in "spray and pray". The smart method is to keep bursts short.

4K can only be shot at a middling 30fps (if you're keeping track, some smartphones can do 4k @120fps and even shoot 8K).

So yeah, overall, it's not a great look. The slow lens doesn't help either.

The autofocus, IQ, ergonomics, and lens range of the RX100vii puts any smartphone to shame.
