IMHO, you're 180 out.

ANY modern higher-end ILC today will deliver outstanding IQ. Sure, there are minor variations between the in-camera jpg renditions, but if you work with RAW or do any PP at all, adjustments 'to taste' in LR or other programs totally levels the playing field. IQ is, at this point, primarily gated by the quality of the lens and the photographer.

That being the case, Pentax has quite correctly identified its most salient market differentiator for its bodies: the shooting experience--including having an actual OVF.
