Re: Nikon Coolpix A versus Ricoh GR ii/iii

I only have experience with the Coolpix A, which I have for eight years. The CPA is a very basic mirrorless camera with a fixed prime lens.

In the nutshell, it has an 16 Mp APSC (DX) sensor, Contrast Detected AF, and a 28 mm f/2.8 - 22  lens and can take HD video. It has a micro USB 2 and a mini Display Port.

The Ricoh GR iii looks similar but actually very different,  the main differences are:

Sensor - 24 Mp APSC

Lens - 28 mm f/2.8 - 16

AF - CDAF with on sensor PDAF

USB 3 connection

additional features:

sensor-shift Image Stabilization

Articulated Touch screen

Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity

I can't comment on the quality of the lens of the Ricoh GR iii, but I am very happy with the quality of the lens on the CPA.

The GR iii is more feature rich and has better AF.
